Foundations for Our Life Together

“Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], and by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”

Proverbs 24:3–4

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

1 John 4:18 KJV

Our Story

It was a quiet, beautiful afternoon, when our paths first crossed. I was walking through the chapel that day, lost in my own thoughts, about to turn to my right, when I noticed him walking straight ahead and just as I drew close, he stopped me and we started a conversation.

It wasn't a grand, show-stopping moment, just a simple greeting and a few words, yet it felt quietly special. The conversation felt natural, like we had picked up from somewhere instead of starting from scratch.

What I didn't know then was that I was standing at a crossroads in my life. I was new in the faith searching, unsure, with many questions in my heart and very few answers. I needed direction more than I realized. I needed guidance, clarity, and patience. And somehow, in that exact season, our paths crossed.

“That conversation stayed with me long after we went our separate ways that afternoon.”

I can still remember clearly what he spoke to me about that first day — “Prayer.” Not just the act of praying, but the heart behind it. The sincerity, discipline, and relationship. That conversation stayed with me long after we went our separate ways that afternoon.

We exchanged phone numbers simply so he could check in on me to make sure I was growing, staying grounded, and not feeling lost. It wasn't about romance. It was about care, intentional care, and a steady presence. Someone who genuinely wanted to see me become better.

Our conversations continued. Slowly, gently, without pressure.

“Guidance turned into regular talks. Regular talks turned into shared laughter. Shared laughter turned into understanding.”

And somewhere in between those moments — the calls, the questions, the encouragement, the honesty — friendship quietly took root.

Then, one day, without any forced moment or grand declaration, love was simply there — natural, peaceful, and certain.

What began as mentor and mentee had grown into two hearts choosing each other.

Looking back now, it feels deeply intentional, like grace arranged the timing, the place, the meeting. A simple stop in a chapel hallway became the beginning of a lifelong journey. The man who first spoke to me about prayer became the man I now choose to pray, grow, and build a life with.
